How much do braces cost?

The cost of your braces will vary greatly, depending on the type of braces you choose. However, at 360 Orthodontics we offer braces and financing options that fit virtually any budget.

Plus, our traditional metal braces are very affordable. Though most orthodontists charge more for metal braces, Dr. Partovi is committed to making sure everyone who wants braces is able to get them and change their lives for the better, regardless of their financial situation.

What factors affect the cost of my braces?

The cost of your braces will depend on three things: the type of braces you choose, the length of treatment and the severity of the dental issues being treated. For example, our Invisalign procedure requires a larger investment than traditional metal braces, and having your braces on for six months will cost less than having them on for two years.

Do braces hurt?

Thanks to advancements in orthodontics, today’s Damon Brackets are not excessively painful. At most, you will feel soreness and discomfort for a day or two after an adjustment. If you’re worried about pain, the absence of brackets and wires makes Invisalign the most comfortable orthodontic treatment option.

How long will it take to have my braces put on?

Traditional metal braces take 1 to 2 hours to apply. The process is time consuming to ensure the braces will begin to gently move the teeth without being too aggressive. Dr. Partovi is a top tier Los Angeles orthodontist with the skill and compassion necessary to work with her patients to provide the most comfortable experience possible.

Other types of braces will require different time frames. For Invisalign clear braces, the custom trays can be placed in under 30 minutes.

What are the most popular braces for adults?

Our adult patients tend to prefer braces that allow them to straighten their teeth discreetly. Because of this, the most popular adult braces are Invisalign, or lingual braces. Dr. Partovi would love to discuss your various options with you.

Other types of braces will require different time frames. For Invisalign clear braces, the custom trays can be placed in under 30 minutes.

How much does insurance cover?

Your orthodontic coverage will vary depending on your insurance company and your unique plan. Please give our office a call today, and we will help you determine what your out-of-pocket expense will be for braces.

How do I remove food that is stuck in my braces?

Getting food stuck in your braces is completely normal. You can easily remove it by flossing with a flossthreader and brushing your teeth.

Dental hygiene is very important when wearing braces. Brushing after you eat, including after snacks is good practice. It is easier to brush with an electric toothbrush as it will do most of the work. Try to floss once a day to maintain gum health.

My braces are hurting the inside of my mouth. What do I do?

It isn’t unusual for newly placed braces to irritate the inside of the mouth. This usually lasts only a week or so. Rinsing with a solution of salt and water can soothe the irritated tissues. If that doesn’t provide relief, over-the-counter pain relief can be used.

Occasionally a wire might poke the inside of the mouth or there may be some other pressure that is causing pain. Dr. Partovi has orthodontic wax that can be used to cushion the mouth which is also available at a pharmacy. A wet cotton ball can provide relief as well.

How long will I need to wear braces?

The average time most patients will wear braces is 18 months to 2 years. Usually children will complete their orthodontic program faster than adults who can require up to 3 years to attain full correction. Much depends on the amount of correction needed and how well your teeth move into place.

For patients using clear dental aligners like Invisalign®, the process may take longer than a program using metal braces. These clear trays are perfect for Los Angeles A-listers who cannot wear metal braces and continue to work so the added time is worth the investment. Also with clear alignment trays the process is more comfortable making the time go by faster.

As a note for those opting for this program, discipline is needed to ensure the aligners are worn for at least 22 hours a day. This factor may make Invisalign a poor option for younger patients. Teens usually do well with Invisalign once they understand the correction will not occur if the trays are not faithfully put back in after eating or drinking.
